The Electronic Assembler will install, assemble and solder and/or lace electrical and mechanical components and/or wires which make up a cable, harness or other assembly. May cut, strip and terminate wires using foot-operated cutter, measuring devices, power cutter and stripper and thereto-stripper or may cut and strip during harness and cable assembly using miscellaneous hand tools.
Typical operations include: inspection and touch-up soldering of P.C, boards, interconnection of baseplate assembly and P.C. boards, check continuity as required using continuity tester, check assembly with automatic GO-NO GO checkers. Typical electrical components are various sizes of resistors, capacitors, IC's, wires, transformers, sockets, plugs, connectors and contact pins. Typical mechanical components are heat sinks, covers, brackets, screws, lock washers, studs, inserts, gaskets, plates and lugs. Typical miscellaneous items used are sleeving, cements, grease, tape, oil, lacquer, paint for marking, epoxies, hand stamps, decals, and lacing twine. Operate miscellaneous small power machines to facilitate assembly operations.
HS Diploma or GED.
1 year previous experience with electrical assembly preferred.
